Job description

Senior Business Analyst

CORE PURPOSE

MANCOSA is seeking a skilled Business Analyst who will be responsible for bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions by analysing business requirements, evaluating existing processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and translating business needs into clear, structured, and actionable requirements for IT projects and digital transformation initiatives. The role supports the full project lifecycle, from business needs identification and feasibility assessment through requirements definition, solution design, testing, implementation and post-implementation evaluation.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Business Needs Analysis and Requirements Management
Engage stakeholders to identify business needs, challenges and opportunities for digital transformation. Elicit, analyse, document and validate business and functional requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and approved project scope.

2. Business Process Analysis and Optimisation
Analyse existing business processes to identify inefficiencies, duplication and opportunities for improvement. Develop current-state and future-state process models and recommend process redesign, standardisation and automation to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.

3. IT Projects and Digital Transformation Support
Support the IT PMO in the initiation, planning and execution of IT projects and digital transformation initiatives. Contribute to business cases, feasibility assessments, solution evaluations, benefits identification and requirements management throughout the project lifecycle.

4. Enterprise Systems and Solution Integration
Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams and vendors to define requirements for new systems, system enhancements and integrations. Assess solution designs against business needs and identify opportunities to improve system interoperability, data flows and business process alignment.

5. User Acceptance Testing and Quality Assurance
Develop UAT scenarios, test cases and acceptance criteria to validate that solutions meet approved business requirements. Coordinate business testing, document and track defects, facilitate retesting and support formal acceptance and go-live readiness assessments.

6. Stakeholder Engagement and Change Management
Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors and implementation partners to ensure shared understanding of project requirements. Support change impact assessments, business readiness, training needs, user documentation and adoption activities to facilitate successful implementation.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Process Improvement: Ability to analyse business processes, identify inefficiencies and develop optimised workflows and process models.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess complex business challenges, evaluate solution options and recommend practical, evidence-based improvements.

Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Strong written, verbal, facilitation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across business and technical teams.

Technical Understanding: Working knowledge of enterprise systems, system integrations, data flows, software development lifecycles and digital transformation technologies.
