Managing and monitoring the research process for Honours students from the onset of their research journey by allocating supervisors, providing pastoral care and academic support.
Job description
- Timeously answer student calls and attend to student complaints
- Confirmation of receipt of emails done daily
- Hold consultations with students to assist with the research process and/or research content
- Resolution of queries to be done timeously
- Be knowledgeable in topic areas surrounding research and programme subject matter
- Provide students with relevant guidelines, resources and templates to assist them through the research process
- Maintain and update the Supervisor allocation and Comprehensive spreadsheet throughout the proposal processing phase
- Supervisor allocation preparation
- Process Supervisor allocations
- Maintain the Supervisor database
- Punctual attendance at Catch-up meetings
- Punctual attendance at ad hoc Research meetings
- Punctual attendance at training initiatives communicated by the Research department
- Assist the Honours Administrators with Turnitin submissions and high similarity index result communication for efficient processing
- Assist with Research initiatives as and when required
- Assist departments within MANCOSA with events
Minimum requirements
Essential qualification
- Minimal – Relevant Degree
Essential experience
- 2 – 3 years’ experience
- Experience within a corporate environment would be an added advantage
- Experience within a higher education institution would be a great asset
