Introduction
The Brand Specialists is tasked with the success of the MANCOSA brand. S/he plans, develops and directs marketing efforts to increase the value and performance of MANCOSA and all subsidiaries. The Brand Specialist must focus on developing a brand’s profit and loss performance, image and positioning compared to competitors. S/he will have a good understanding of their audience and customers and have strong creative, analytical and organization skills. S/he have a good handle on consumer and market insights, including the ability to analyse market data, and will be tasked with conducting consumer research. The position requires close collaboration with marketing, management and all internal and external stakeholders.
Job description

DUTIES/TASKS

  • Manage and enhance MANCOSA’s brand or reputation in the public's eye.
  • Carrying out market research in order to keep up to date with customer trends, as well as trying to predict future trends, at a programme and regional level and in the SADC Region
  • Develop detailed consumer insights and persona’s that will inform marketing campaigns and strategies
  • Identify brand building areas and opportunities
  • Must be able to work with external research agency from brief to conclusion stage
  • Provide design and direction for marketing collateral
  • Develop strategies and manage marketing campaigns across print, outdoor, radio and online platforms to ensure that products and services meet customers’ expectations and to build the credibility of brands
  • Analyse the success of marketing campaigns and produce detailed reports
  • Supervising advertising, product design and other forms of marketing to maintain consistency in branding
  • Meeting with clients and working with colleagues across multiple departments (such as marketing, facilities team, academics, marketing managers, directors and chief marketing officers)
  • Develop accountability structures/measures for all stakeholders
  • Managing expense budgets
  • Develop insights into slow moving programmes and create opportunities to increase programme interest
  • Organising events such as product launches, exhibitions and photo shoots.
  • Establishing and maintaining Corporate Identity Document to ensure consistency of branding across all business units.

 

Minimum requirements

Qualification

·       A Marketing degree or equivalent

·        A postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage

  

Experience

·       A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a marketing portfolio with emphasis on advertising, branding, product management and public relation
