CORE PURPOSE
· To lead and manage the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Department within the School of Education, ensuring the effective implementation, supervision, and promotion of quality WIL activities aligned with MANCOSA’s vision and mission.
Core Functions
· Establish and maintain a WIL philosophy aligned with MANCOSA’s vision and mission.
· Collaborate with Academic Programme Leaders to design WIL teaching and learning strategies for PGCE specialisations and BED methodology modules.
· Develop and manage a comprehensive WIL assessment strategy.
· Manage WIL lifecycle management, including tracking systems, surveys, and policies.
· Manage the WIL budget to ensure alignment with strategic goals and operational efficiency.
· Manage all WIL administration, operations and quality assurance.
· Manage WIL staff, including mentor assessors nationally
· Identify and manage suitable mentor assessors nationally for teaching practice.
· Plan and manage WIL placements, ensuring alignment with operational requirements.
· Develop and implement appropriate WIL procedures and quality control measures for all processes.
· Identify operational risks and implement interventions to mitigate these risks.
· Contribute towards advancing research in WIL
· Advance WIL’s industry acceptance through strategic partnerships and professional body recognition.
Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including school partners, students, teacher unions, regulatory bodies, and government departmentsMinimum requirements
Minimum Job Requirements:
· Master’s Degree (essential).
· PhD (preferred).
· Minimum of 3 years’ lecturing and/or management experience.
· Leadership and management experience in higher education (preferred).
· In possession of a valid driver’s license.
