FACILITIES OFFICER – JOHANNESBURG CORE PURPOSE The purpose of this position is to implement and ensure the building facilities are maintained efficiently and at a professional standard by providing support to day to day operations.
Job description

CORE FUNCTIONS INCLUDE
·      Provide directive on renovation and building maintenance work to staff, (general workers) and contractors.
·      General Maintenance of building
·      Ensure that the standard of work conducted by the various entities affiliated with MANCOSA such as Interpark are to MANACOSA’s professional standards
·      Prepare all relevant documentation and submit for contractor’s payments with finance
·      Solicit and negotiate reasonable quotes for upgrades
·      Monitor all project timelines and ensure projects are completed within approved budget
·      Ensure all weekly, monthly, bi-annually and annual services are done
·      Provide workshop and event set ups according to the recommended requirements and professional standards
·      Responsible for airport pickups of MANCOSA’s dignitaries 
·      Conduct adhoc duties
·      Experienced in office and construction Occupational Health & Safety compliance
Conduct Monthly meetings with service providers

Minimum requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
·      Senior Certificate
·      Relevant Engineering or Facilities Management courses would be an advantageous 

EXPERIENCE
·    Minimum 1 years’ experience in operations/maintenance environment
 
RELATED KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
·      Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
·      Attention to detail and sound time management skills
·      Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
·      Project costing and budget control
·      Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·      Leadership skills
·      Proactive
·      Good negotiating skills
·      Ability to motivate staff to excel at their jobs

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
·      Will be required to work overtime and during the weekends
