CORE FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
To offer guidance and assistance to an Academic Programme Leader with regards to a specific academic program. This position entails a variety of responsibilities geared toward ensuring the student success and academic excellence of the program, as well as assisting with the broader school with initiatives towards the growth of students and the institution. Furthermore, the position requires commitment towards supporting the management of a program, which will include the subsequent facets: Program Management and Leadership; Program Planning and Administration; Program Admission and Delivery; Stakeholder Engagement, Development, and Recognition; Program Intelligence; Programme Governance; Programme Cycle Reviews and Programme Improvement.
CORE FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
· Programme Management and Leadership (within the confines of MANCOSA’s vision, mission, and strategy)
· To coordinate the development and continuous improvement of Program teaching and learning and the program assessment strategy create a monitoring process, through the management of a tracker for the program
· To assist with measuring of graduate attributes through the coordination of engagement between the APL and students across the program
· To assist with research on opportunities to advance the school's program offering and school strategy (program growth, articulation, etc.)
· Programme Planning and Administration in collaboration with Institutional Planning
· To liaise with academic administrators in relation to academic readiness for each semester.
· To create and monitor academic administrators progress trackers
· To the assist the Academic Programme Leader (APL) with the recruitment and appointment of suitable academic deliverables
· Facilitation of webinars
· Assessment development / Marking
· Stakeholder Engagement, Development and Recognition
· To coordinate appropriate Community Engagement initiatives and activities
· To assist with the planning and coordination of Delivery of academic events for internal and external academic staff
· Student Engagement and Success in Programme
· To assist with aligning students with Programme specific career guidance in collaboration with Career Centre
· Programme Intelligence to engage with relevant stakeholders to request information on Student assessment performance.
· To assist the APL with program benchmarking and development of new programs within the school
· Programme Governance (Monitoring, Evaluation and Risk Management)
· To assist the APL identification and intervention for students at risk
· Programme Cyclical Review – Programme Quality Monitoring)
· To assist with module content review and update.
· To assist with coordinating of data and reports that will manage all internal and external quality assurance efforts
Minimum requirements
QUALIFICATION
• Essential qualification: Postgraduate degree specialising in Public Administration (NQF Level 8) studying towards Masters in Public Administration
• Preferred qualification: Masters (NQF Level 9)
ESSENTIAL
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in higher Education/ Academic
