- Assist the Manager to monitor staff attendance and ensure that work is performed when Co-ordinators are absent or unavailable.
- Perform induction and orientation of new staff and provide training to ensure that all Co-ordinators are competent and familiar with expected performance requirements. Ensure new staff are well equipped for the job requirements by undertaking on-the-job training.
- Conduct relevant training of markers and moderators on navigating MancosaConnect; and conducting Student Orientation training on assessment requirements.
- Monitoring work performance and outputs of Co-ordinators’ work, proposing solutions and taking corrective action where necessary, including:
- Monitor and track assessment marking/ moderation statistics daily.
- Conduct final check of the assessment tracker.
- Provides staff support including: Support to Assessment Co-ordinators with sourcing the appropriate markers/ moderators in consultation with the Assessment Administration Manager; Investigating and resolving student assessment related queries raised by stakeholders such as Student Services, Assessments Administration Manager and or Director.
- Respond to queries from management on marking and moderating process flow, and liaising with Co-ordinators to ensure that departmental deadlines are met.
- Contribute to timeous release of results by ensuring marking/ moderation is released on or prior to the scheduled calendar date, upon the instruction to go-ahead from the Assessment Managers.
- Ensuring that data security relating to Assessments meets high standards. Upholding and promoting the safety and security of the physical and intellectual property of the Assessments Department at all times (e.g. file all transcripts, protect scripts, ensure all doors in the Assessments Department are locked at all times, and only authorized personnel are allowed access).
Minimum requirements
Essential qualification | · Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma or Higher Certificate in Commerce, Supply Chain, Business Management or HR |
Essential experience | · 3 Years’ experience within a higher education institution or in an administrative environment |

1. | Willingness to work overtime after hours and on Saturdays when required. |
2. | Travel (regional and national) may be required (infrequent, /- bi-annually) |
