Job description

Core Purpose
  • Responsible for the effective regional management and support of students prior to, during and upon completion of their WIL experience
  • Ensure the provision of quality and effective Work Integrated Learning (WIL) activities within the SOE
  • Review systems, policies and procedures for Work Integrated Learning (WIL) for continual development
  • Nurture and maintain relationships with all stakeholders including school partners, students, regulatory bodies, government, teacher unions, and other departments within the organisation to identify, develop and extend WIL opportunities

Core Functions
  • Plan and organise and oversee WIL school visits in terms of preparation and delivery
  • Assist with sourcing and interviewing of candidates for regional mentor assessors
  • Delivering and participating in training events, workshops, boot camps and presentations to staff, academics and students with a focus on developing a deeper understanding of WIL.
  • Coordinate the school-based WIL moderation procedure in the region and provide coherent data reports
  • Provide timeous inputs, statistical analysis and reports to the WIL Manager on all matters relating to WIL.
  • Developing and maintaining a ‘continuous improvement’ culture related to all aspects of WIL in accordance with the WIL Policy and SOPs.
  • Effectively collaborate with internal and external support departments to develop, implement and continually improve procedures, processes and guidelines that comply with requirements for students undertaking WIL
  • Build rapport with and develop relations with all stakeholders including school partners, internal and external mentor assessors and local and international networks

Minimum Requirements:
  • A Master’s degree in Education or show evidence of nearing Masters studies completion.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Teacher Education
  • A minimum of 10 years teaching experience in the schooling sector.

  • Experience in partnerships and collaboration with externals stakeholders
  • Distance learning experience in assessments (online)
