SENIOR RESEARCH ASSOCIATE– DURBAN
CORE PURPOSE:
To facilitate the delivery of high quality research-based, full thesis doctoral programmes, and to supervise the academic research functions at the institution, which includes, but is not limited to; high quality academic research support initiatives, research publications through recognised platforms, and the production of an accredited journal.
Job description
CORE DUTIES:
· Participate in the design, planning and delivery of doctoral programmes.
· Teach on and facilitate research workshops for doctoral programmes, as per programme structure.
· Participate in the review, regulatory and assessment processes of doctoral programmes.
· Participate in committee structures, as deemed necessary by the Manager of doctoral programmes.
· Advise on the recruitment, selection and allocation of supervisors to doctoral students.
· Support the induction and training of doctoral programme supervisors.
· Oversight of research outputs of staff and doctoral candidates.
· Contribute to and participate in selected activities of the Research Directorate.
· Management and accreditation of the Journal of Management and Administration (JMA).
· Management of the Academic Publication Unit (APU) budget.
· Manage and build pool of vendors and editors.
· Performance Management of the APU administrator and JMA Research Associate.
· Report writing.
Minimum requirements
QUALIFICATION:
· Doctorate degree
· Preferable: Specialisation in business, administration, management, commerce, education, or in cognate fields
EXPERIENCE:
· Doctoral student supervision
· Record of research output
· Participation in doctoral programme delivery

· Research in field of specialisation and expertise
· Successful student support interventions and measures at a doctoral level
· Effective doctoral student supervision policies, programmes and models
· The research processes in the doctoral thesis production
